S/NFI team held a consultation meeting with the RRC and communities regarding the distribution site and it was concluded that the items would be distributed near Concern Worldwide Nutrition centres in both Kuach and Guit, which are central locations and will be convenient for everyone to come and collect their NFIs. Consideration were given to those coming from Leah since there location is quite a footing distance from Koch centre.
S/NFI team held a consultation meeting with the RRC, protection partners (DRC) and communities regarding the distribution site and it was concluded that the items would be distributed at Bang Primary school, which is a central location and will be convenient for everyone to come and collect their NFIs. Consideration were given to those coming from Leah since there location is quite a footing distance from Koch centre.
The distribution was done in Lakes state in Cueibet county, in three payams of Ngap, Abiriu and Malou with the number of seven (7) bomas. This distribution was based on the needs assessment, verification and registration carried out by Plan International. The registration and verification was done on house-house basis in close coordination with community leaders and members targeting vulnerable women, men, girls and boys.
The distribution for beneficiaries registered in Nordeng took place in Kuetrengke and for those registered in Ketbek took place in Nyatot. These locations were identified in consultation with the beneficiaries, chiefs and the local authorities because of its proximity to all the registered beneficiaries however the original plan to hold the distribution in the locations where the beneficiaries registered failed due to the water levels receding and the Logistics Cluster boat could not access.
The Medair ERT ES/NFI team, in partnership with CIDO and HDC as static partners, conducted a needs assessment on 4 and 5 March in the UNMISS–AA site. The findings showed that the IDPs who had fled violence in surrounding areas had very little to support themselves and were relying on the few items they could borrow from the host community to survive. This was not enough to meet their most basic needs of shelter, food preparation, disease prevention, and clothing.
Before deciding on the distribution whereabouts, both YEDA distribution team and the Village Representative Committees that were previously formed, in addition to, the host community, women, youth, and boma chiefs jointly identified the distribution site on 22nd-01-2020, 6 days ahead of the distribution date which started on 28th-30th/01, 2020.
Distribution of SNFI Materials was held in Duk Padiet County Jonglei state by NRC,CIDO,HDC and ADA rapid response team in cooperation with the local authority and hired casual workers, community leaders.
From November to early December 2019 HDC/CIDO conducted distribution in Pibor Airstrip, Supporting IDPs and flood affected population of Pibor Town Payam who were mainly displaced to Government premises which is at higher altitude and the Pibor Airstrip; were the only Dry places accessible by beneficiaries and located at the central point of PIBOR Town. The distance of travel to Airstrip where distribution took place is less than 1 hour footing one way.
Distribution was held in Maar. Prior to distribution, the team held meetings with authorities (chief executive director, RRC and chiefs of the 5 bomas). And the plan for the entire process was agreed, particularly distribution modalities (queuing, verification, messaging and picking of items).
