The distribution of loose S/NFIs was held in Verteth centre by PAH, CHAS, community volunteers and the local Authority of Verteth Payam
Substantial mobilization was done before the distribution exercise with the help of the hired community mobilizers and the chiefs to convey the message of the distribution to the beneficiaries. Pre-distribution meeting was held with the Boma and village chiefs and the ERT team to choose the distribution site and their days jointly and to communicate the measures of the distribution exercises.
The distribution was conducted in Yomding center where the flood affected community are residing. The distribution site was suggested and agreed on by local authority and community leaders with guidance from ACTED. Distribution sites were located in close proximity to beneficieries in order to facilitate easy access.. The beneficiaries were informed prior to the distribution through the local authorities and community mobilisers who used megaphones to disseminate the information on distribution, beneficiary entitlement, dates, venue, and time for the distribution.
The distribution was conducted in four locations in greater Ulang, Yomding, Doma, Kewer and Ulang. The beneficiary’s representative and the team choose those places because it was accessible by majority of beneficiaries who live in concentration around and near the airstrip and in three locations near river bank.
Beneficiaries coming from the farthest bomas where walking for short distance, but it was not possible to create mobile distribution sites.
The distribution was conducted in Tali Centre covering beneficiaries from seven (7) bomas, Jobur, Dari, Mokido South, Mokido North, Pagara, and Jaming & Bari.
The distribution team applied systematic methodologies in the planning phase of the NFIs distribution, first local authorities were consulted on the favourable distribution date, venue and time, which was mutually agreed and later community mobilizers were authorized to inform beneficiaries about the distribution.
Distribution points and location.
Fire broke out on 10th January at 11:20PM, consuming 16 shelters, 12 others partially burned in Sector 4, Block 12 and .The cause, source of the fire is not known, and fire was said to start from the roof. The entire community from the block fought the wild fire with technical skill they had gained from IOM CCCM training. They used blanket soaked in water and through them into the burning fire. This was very much help to control the fire from escalating
The distribution was held at Duk Payuel Payam administrative grounds following the response to the need analysis that was conducted in December by PAH and CIDO Wash team, CIDO SNFI teamand Np protection team. However, in the response it was a joined intervention including IOM as the lead Partner in SNFI and as the partner who raised the PLR. The Team held meetings with Authority, chiefs and community leaders from the 5payams prior to the distribution as a result the team together with the chiefs came up with a plan for the entire process.
The distribution was held at DukPayuelPayam administrative grounds following the response to the need analysis that was conducted in December by PAH and CIDO Wash team, CIDO SNFI team and Np protection team. However, in the response it was a joined intervention including IOM as the lead Partner in SNFI and as the partner who raised thePLR. The Team held meetings with Authority, chiefs and community leaders from the 5payams prior to the distribution as a result the team together with the chiefs came up with a plan for the entire process.
- The distribution was held at Morobo headquarters on the 9th of January 2020 with the help of our local partner ARD-Africa and the local authorities ( chiefs and county RRC secretary)
- The beneficiaries were informed of the distribution through messaging a few days prior to the distribution.
- Community leaders, Community Protection Networking Groups and Concern Enumerators were mobilized to disseminate the information to the beneficiaries.
